PROTECTION AND CONFIDENTIALITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION: We accept dual responsibility with you, to responsibly process and protect your personal information when providing our services to you. We will ensure that it is used appropriately and according to the purpose it was gathered for. We will keep your data confidential. 

ACTING FOR SERVICE AND PRODUCT PROVIDERS: We collect and process your personal information to provide you with the services we offer, as well as value-added products and services of the providers with whom we have agreements in place. 

THE PURPOSE FOR THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT: The information we collect will be for the facilitation of asset finance, and will be processed for that specific purpose only. We will inform you what information is required. The information will be shared with a Credit Provider (Bank) for the purpose of credit facilitation, and they will process your personal information further. Should you choose to take up value added products or services with one of our service providers, they may also require information from you and again further processing will take place. These providers are subject to the same legal requirements as we are. We will take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is accurate and updated. To ensure correctness, we will collect the personal information directly from you. 

USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION: Your personal information will be used only for the primary purpose of asset finance, the purpose for which it was collected, and agreed to by you.

It may include:

  • Processing of finance applications;
  • Offering of value-added products and services to you;
  • Verifying your identity and related information as required by legislation;
  • For detection and prevention of fraud, crime, money laundering as applicable by legislation;
  • Carry out the service as requested from us;
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements. 

DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION: Should you agree to a value-added product or service, we need to share your personal information with our providers whose products or services you decided on. Further processing will thus take place. These service providers comply with the requirements of the POPI Act. If a third party asks us for any of your personal information, we will share it only if:

  • You have already given your consent for the disclosure of this information;
  • We have a legal or contractual duty to give the information to that third party;
  • We may also disclose your information where we have a duty or a right to disclose in terms of applicable legislation and the law. 

SHARING YOUR INFORMATION OUTSIDE OF THE BORDERS OF SOUTH AFRICA: We will not share your information outside of South Africa, unless you request us to do so. We will then request your written consent. 

SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION: The POPI Act requires us to protect your personal information, and to take reasonable steps to avoid unauthorised access and use. We will review our processes on a continues basis to secure your personal information. If we need to transfer your personal information to another company for processing or storage, they will treat your information with the same level of care as is required from us. 

ACCES & CORRECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION: You are allowed to get access on the personal information we hold. You may ask us to update, correct, or delete personal information. Under applicable legislation we are obligated to keep your personal information for a period of time. Some of the legislation include:
